Subject: Couldn't hear the show, despite being there.
This was my second ever Grateful Dead concert. I was seated with a friend in the lower tier, I saw the band there on stage playing, and couldn't hear a damn thing. I was tripping balls so hard that I thought the show was a practical joke until halfway through the second set. It was a joke as far as I was (and still am) concerned. This is what led to so many folks (myself included) jumping from the lower tier to the floor once the show started. I was NOT going to sit through another concert I couldn't hear. Fuck that. Couldn't even score the second night, and the sound (and show) was sublime. If this review seems like sour grapes it probably is. I can't be the only one... One star. I can't even bring myself to stream this, as I will probably cry hearing the show I "missed" despite being there...
Damn right super copy Charlie this was a five for me the shakedown was poundingly good you can feel kind mojo from the start walking blues very good, candy man you might say Jer layed around the high note but its really more of a spacey underwater sound, jackaroe real good, yea Picasso got thrown in there and heard a lot of don't ease 1st set closers but that's not enough for me to drop it off of a five 2nd set pre drums very tight, you can't even bitch about the Corina that built at the end into nice little drum jam that evolved into nice windy futuristic alien shit sounding jam that built into nice long train rambler drums I thought it was cool as shit they never really moved off that progressive beat that started at the end of Corina and Phil absolutely fucking exploded into the other one man I can still remember how booming that was like a pulsating energy sound wave blast and nice dew and nice double on the encore with tomorrow never knows baba oreilly. I think that was only about the second time they played that. Was a jamming show
Subject: great show, great sound
Nice long jamming Shakedown. Steve Miller rips a solo during Spoonful and adds nice rhythm work on Other One and Morning Dew. This is the better SBD.
